I have a 27-inch waist so I went with the large to be safe since the medium had a waist dimension of ~25.6 inches. The large is an okay fit. It's just a little loose around the waist, but if you're looking to tuck in a thicker fabric like that of a sweater, it looks fine.
This skirt is really comfortable with soft fabric and I appreciate the lining inside.
